I think its time to rename Earthbound-Likes. You know, the games that are inspired by 

the cult classic videogame Earthbound? There has been a lot of them to the point where its an

entire genre in of itself. Eastward, Undertale, Lisa the Painful, Citizens of Earth, 

Omori just to name a few, have become the norm. So I want to rename the genre like Yahtzee

Crowshaw tried to rename the Souls-Like genre to Recursive Games. Besides,

I think if we keep calling these games Earthbound-Likes the that would

leave out Earthbound and no Earthbound fan wants that.

So I thought of a new name for the genre:

Offbeat RPGs

An Offbeat RPG is an RPG that goes against the grain or put a new twist on the RPG genre. 

Not to toot my own horn but I think this describes the examples in the first paragraph

perfectly. In fact I don't think it HAS to be an RPG. Has anyone made an Offbeat Beat'em Up 

yet? If you want an Offbeat genre don't be afraid to stand out and break the mold. It worked for 

these guys!
